ASPLEY Family Medical & Dental Practice is inviting all patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes to attend a clinic, aimed at improving their understanding and control of their condition. Patients begin by attending an initial consultation where their Diabetes Cycle of Care will be completed and 6 months after that, will come back for a review and other items e.g. ABI Doppler and ECG, GPMP/TCA, and Allied Health referrals.
We will discuss and recommend the various options available to replace your missing teeth at your appointment, so as to properly and fully understand and address your specific needs.
Almost 1.1 million Australians currently have been diagnosed with diabetes.
Call our reception: (07) 3263 9951 to book or to ask any further questions. Our current diabetic patients will also receive an invitation to attend our clinics in the mail, so keep an eye out!
Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how the body processes blood glucose (sugar), leading to elevated blood sugar levels.
Common symptoms of diabetes include frequent urination, excessive thirst, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision, and slow healing of wounds.
Managing diabetes involves a combination of medication, lifestyle changes, and regular monitoring of blood glucose levels.
If left unmanaged, diabetes can lead to severe complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, nerve damage (neuropathy), eye problems (retinopathy), and lower limb amputations.
Preventing Type 2 diabetes involves maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and avoiding excessive weight gain.
Regular screenings for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and other male-specific health concerns should be a priority.
